The main hotels for the General Conference are:

All the space in these hotels are occupied by delegates, alternates, church leadership and special guests. These reservations have been made through the Presiding Bishops. Please contact your Bishop if you have a question about your reservation. You will receive information indicating which hotel you have been assigned to by mid-May.

This hotel is 2.5 miles from the BJCC meeting area.

Tutwiler Hampton Inn and Suites Hotel, 2021 Park Place, Birmingham, AL 35203
This hotel is less than a mile from the BJCC meeting area.
TO GET THE CONFERENCE RATE OF $139 plus tax YOU MUST REGISTER first and a link will be provided. Deadline for reservations is May 20, 2018.
Check in time is 3 pm. Requests for early check-ins must be directed to the hotels.
Birmingham is served by several major airlines. The airport code is BHM. The airport is less than 5 miles from downtown Birmingham.

GROUND TRANSPORTATION TO FROM/AIRPORT
A free shuttle to the Sheraton and Westin Hotels are available to/from the airport. Call 205-324- 500 (Sheraton) or 205-307-3600 (Westin) to get times of service.
A free shuttle to the Doubletree is available to/from the airport. Call 205-933-9000 to get times of service.
The Tutwiler Hampton Inn and Suites does not have an airport shuttle.
A private shuttle can be arranged by calling Prideline Transportation, call 205-703-7993 for prices and reservations, website: www.pridelinebus.com.
Taxis to the hotels are available. The hotels are 3-7 miles from the airport. The ride is 10-20 minutes to all hotels.
Lyft and Uber also serve the area.

The General Conference opening Communion Service on Saturday morning, June 23rd, the Sunday School and Sunday Worship on June 24th and the closing session on Friday, June 29th will be at the Sheraton Hotel Ballroom.
All other sessions of the General Conference will be in the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex (BJCC)-East Exhibit Hall and Meeting Rooms, 2100 Richard Arrington Jr Blvd, Birmingham, AL 35203.

Note: Delegates and alternates should plan to arrive no later than 5 pm on Friday, June 22nd. Episcopal District Caucus meetings are Friday night at 7pm. The official opening is Saturday, June 23rd at 9 am with a Communion Service.
TRANSPORTATION TO MEETING SITE
The Sheraton and Westin Hotels are within walking distance of the BJCC. Walking shoes are highly recommended. Golf carts for seniors will be available on a limited basis. If you have mobility issues, it is recommended that you rent a scooter (see rental information below).
Complimentary bus service will be available between the Tutwiler Hampton Inn Hotel and the Doubletree Hotel in the mornings and evenings. Reservations are required. Please sign-up fo this service on your registration form.
PARKING AT THE MEETING VENUE (BJCC)
There is ample parking available at the BJCC, at varying walking distances and prices. A map of the BJCC and parking can be found at http://www.bjcc.org/map-of-bjcc-campus.php.
TRAVEL ADVISORY- there is highway construction in the area. Please allow extra time to arrive and park.
Attendees who desire to rent a scooter can make arrangements for delivery and payment through Elrod Mobility, 1930 3rd Ave N, Bessemer, AL 35020, Phone: (205) 823-8181. The current rate is $150 plus tax per week with a $75 delivery fee, prices subject to change. There will be a designated pick-up area for all rentals. There will be NO on-site rentals available.
EXHIBIT AND VENDOR SPACE
Persons interested in exhibit and vending space should call the Department of Publications at 901-396-5400 to request contract information. Deadline for reserving space is June 1st.
PACKAGES (Delivered to Hotel Guests Only)
The Sheraton and Westin will accept delivery of packages at a 25% delivery rate discount. There is also a $5 per box handling fee. Contact hotel for instructions and to set-up payment.
The Doubletree by Hilton will store and deliver packages at a discount rate of $8 per day per package. Contact hotel for instructions and to set-up payment.

Packages may NOT be sent to the BJCC.
If you desire to ship packages to a local church, instead, please contact the local host committee by email at firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss the options and any associated costs.
