Endorsement for CME Chaplains

The Book of Discipline of the CME Church 2010 the procedures for endorsement are as follows:

  • A written request from the person seeking endorsement.
  • A letter of support from the Presiding Bishop to the Endorsing Agent.
  • Review of necessary documents by the Board of Chaplains (or its representative).
  • Recommendation by Board of Chaplains to Endorsing Agent.
  • Notification of applicant of decision.


 

Procedures

Applicant must send letter of Request for Endorsement to the Endorsing Agent.  The request should include:

a.  Full name and all contact information of the applicant (including cell and email)
b.  Position for which endorsement is needed, with job description, if available.
c.  Name of the entity and/or person to whom endorsement is to be sent.
d.  Any forms that must be completed for the entity requiring the endorsement.
e.  Full listing of ordination, credentials and training of the applicant (via resume or copies of certificates)
f.  Letter of good standing from the applicant’s presiding bishop.
g.  Note any deadlines for receipt of endorsement or any special instructions as required by the employer or entity requiring endorsement.

Please allow a minimum of 14 business days after the receipt of ALL documents  for the endorsement to be processed.
